Program Provides Youth Soccer Clubs and Leagues
With An Education Based Curriculum

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Tuesday, December 22, 2014) – Arizona United welcomes Arizona Soccer Club as the third member of the “Student of the Game” program.

“We felt it was a great opportunity to help educate the players as they are developing, and also the parents. In youth sports, we need to get these parents as educated as much as we can on what a great sport soccer is,” said Arizona Soccer Club President Mike Briseno. “There are many great cultural aspects that kids can get from growing up with professional soccer around them. Being out there to watch games, and seeing how the fans enjoy the game will help in that growth and development. We really believe that partnering with a professional sports organization to share in that energy will help to do that.”

The “Student of the Game” is designed to provide youth soccer clubs and leagues with an education-based curriculum. It is designed to assist clubs, entry-level coaches, parents and players in further development of their soccer knowledge and teaching. One aspect of the program has our partners observing closed-door training sessions with Arizona United. This will allow for players and coaches to further their knowledge by watching high-level professional soccer. The program allows youth soccer players in Arizona to experience what it’s like to be a professional soccer player.

“Coaches around the Valley have told us that one of the biggest problems they face is that their players are not able to attend enough high-level professional soccer matches on a consistent basis,” said Arizona United General Manager Kevin Stevenson. “This program fills that void by creating a direct pathway for youth players in Arizona to watch us play in person at Scottsdale Stadium in 2015, observe training sessions, and learn from our professional players. We are very pleased to add Arizona Soccer Club to our growing program.”

“Student of the Game” partners receive a listing on arizonaunited.com as a 2015 Youth Soccer Partner, one player appearance at an event for each level of partnership, a raffle pack of premium merchandise items, great fundraising opportunities, and priority access to “Get in the Game” on-field opportunities, which include: Penalty kicks post game, ball kids, players escorts/dream team, high-five line, pre-game play on the field, halftime mini-games, and a picture on the pitch.
