Arizona United Soccer Club and Soccer Shots have teamed up to teach basic soccer fundamentals to children before and during Arizona United SC’s home matches at Scottsdale Stadium this year.
Soccer Shots is recognized as the premier intro-to-soccer provider in the United States, reaching approximately 150,000 children each year. This interactive soccer program is designed to not only teach and develop strong soccer skills, but also improve coordination, attention spans, and behavior by using games and activities designed specifically for kids between the ages of 2 and 8. Entrepreneur magazine ranked Soccer Shots as the #1 Children’s Fitness Franchise in 2012, 2013, and 2015.
“Soccer Shots compliments our move to Scottsdale Stadium in an extremely positive way,” said Arizona United SC General Manager Kevin Stevenson. “We are looking to create a culture around our club, and bringing in a program that teaches soccer to the next generation of Arizona United SC fans will not only encourage the growth of our club, but the growth of soccer in Arizona.”
Soccer Shots will offer 40-minute ‘intro to soccer’ sessions for children ages 3 – 6 before and during Arizona United SC home matches. The pre-game session kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and will be held on the grass lawn located outside the front entrance to Scottsdale Stadium. The second and third sessions will take place during the first and second halves of the match inside the stadium. For a nominal fee, parents will be able to watch at least one half of the Arizona United SC match uninterrupted while still promoting the game of soccer to their own children.
“Soccer is a great game to teach young children,” said Soccer Shots Owner Jason Madvig. “It lends itself to so many positive things beyond the fun of the game and every Soccer Shots session is filled with imagination, confidence building, teamwork exercises and character-building lessons.”
Arizona United SC makes its home debut at Scottsdale Stadium on April 25 against the Portland Timbers FC 2 at 7:30 p.m. PT.
